Animal Companions - If you're shopping for an animal companion, you'll no doubt find a warm furry best friend to adopt at the Curry County Animal Shelter in Gold Beach, or the South Coast Humane Society in Brookings. The basic idea is to locate hidden containters outdoors, called geocaches, and then share your experiences online. Currently there are 237+ treasures in Curry County. Mall shopping - There are several indoor and outdoor malls throughout
the county for your one-stop shopping pleasure. The newest indoor mall is the beautiful Gold Rush Center in Gold Beach, where you'll find art galleries, a day spa, locally made skincare products, a gymnastics center, a public meeting facility, a sushi restaurant, a real estate company, the Chamber of Commerce and more in the process of opening. In Harbor, you'll find several outdoor malls with an extensive variety of shops, such as the Brookings-Harbor Shopping Center, the South Coast Shopping Center and the English Village Shoppes. There is something for everyone here. |
Myrtlewood Shops - The wood of the locally grown Myrtle tree is used to make a variety of unique products including miniature lighthouses, gun stocks, bowls, clocks, jewelry, and more. Visit a local myrtlewood shop and ask for a tour of their workshop. |

Port of Port Orford - The new high dock at this port is a wonder to
see. This dock is home to several dozen commercial and sport vessels, a fish processing plant, wholesale fish buyers, a charter company and dive shop, a snack bar and gift shop, and the offices of the Port. Visit their website.

Rummage Markets - If you're a bargain shopper for pre-owned items, you'll find several rummage markets throughout the year that benefit charitable organizations. The granddaddy of them all is The Hospice Marketplace in Gold Beach, which puts on an annual Rummage Market in the summer - the largest of its kind on the Oregon coast. A bargain hunter's dream! |
Taste local spirits - Curry County has 2 spirit distilleries, Brandy Peak
